Where did June go?
I feel like summer is already half over!
Time really does tick away when you aren’t paying attention. I kicked off the month looking for a new place for several reasons. A big one being Savy having troubles on the 3 flights of stairs at my previous place. Looking for an apartment isn’t a fun endeavor and I had a bit of a time crunch. I wanted to be out and moved into a new place before I left for Massachusetts on the 22nd. Yeah, a quick turn around for sure, but we are on the other side and getting settled in.
To add to my plate, as if that weren’t enough I had pick up a writing gig and my deadline was the day I was leaving town and another project I was wrapping up evaluating a fitness program for a company. Those three weeks are a bit of a blur.
Despite all that was going on I was still able to get in some fun too. Have you been to an art cafe? Well if not and you’re in the 9th and 9th neighborhood of Salt Lake City it is a fun thing to do with friends or family. Spent some time in the garden making sure everything was planted before leaving town, and observed my kids playing golf (no, I didn’t play, I haven’t the patience for it yet, maybe in my elder years, or I’ll be the cart lady schlepping beverages and wearing crazy outfits.)

By the time the 22nd rolled around and my ass hit that airplane seat, I exhaled and settled in for a 5 hour flight to Boston. I was invited to a sweet little cottage not far from the Cape. We were the first guests of the season so there was some “opening” cleaning that needed to be done but we had several beach days, got some SUPing in, went on some runs in the cool mornings, and biked to breakfast at the Blue Foot Cafe. Attended a Gatemen game, as well as a Red Sox game. We packed in as much New England fun as we possibly could handle.

We landed the morning of the 30th and I still had a few things left in the old garage I had to get out. Took one last walk through the old apartment. I didn’t cry ya’ll. It was a good chapter and I’m trying to practice the art of detachment but some places leave a mark on you and serve a purpose. That apartment got me painting again.
As my daughter pointed out, my new place gives off Eloise at the Plaza vibes, it might have something to do with the fact I bought a bellman cart at a thrift store before the move that was super clutch. New neighbors also moving in thought they had those hidden somewhere. So far, so good and slowly everything is shifting into place. Stay tuned for what we think of the new place. The building has a podcast room so we could venture into the land of chit chat next, who knows.
So Hum,
T
